Cape Breton Films for Change is a monthly film series that runs for six months each year. Films For Change uses the power of film to raise awareness of important social and environmental issues as the impetus for action, dialogue and change.
Our Cape Breton community continues to want to participate in a growing conversation about our future. As we look to other communities in transition, particularly those that are rising up from the grassroots social innovation movements, we see that storytelling is often at the heart and can be the impetus for deep change. Storytelling through film is powerful, engaging, global and innovative. New Dawn encourages citizens to engage, grow, transform, and perhaps be moved to inspired action on the issues that hold deep meaning. This series uses the power of film to raise awareness of important social, environmental issues to provide an accelerated and entertaining educational experience.
