Home Living Ltd.
Home Living Ltd. provides an innovative and unique residential option for seniors. Through this small options program, caregivers and their families are contracted by Home Living to look after one to three people with mental, physical, or emotional challenges. The families may house the seniors in their own home or in a home managed by New Dawn Enterprises Limited at Pine Tree Park Estates, a decommissioned military base on the outskirts of Sydney.
Through Home Living, seniors gain the security of 24-hour care that includes meal preparation and house keeping as well as attention to health and personal needs by a caregiver trained in CPR and personal care. A home environment, a family atmosphere, a measure of independence and freedom, together with affordability make Home Living especially appealing. This program represents a significant departure from traditional institutional care.
Home Living Limited was established by New Dawn in 1991. New Dawn refurbished 30 duplex units as Pine Tree Park Estates, each accommodating three tenants on one side and their care giving family on the other. The tenants have their own bedrooms which they can personally furnish. The caregiver has both interior and exterior access to the tenants unit and is able to keep constant contact through a monitor.
Home Living was profiled as part of an article “celebrating Canadians who are making a difference in their own communities.” Home Living is a unique and affordable option for seniors and one that makes the transition from leaving their own homes much easier.
Additional features of the Home Living program at Pine Tree Park Estates include:

- transportation to and from doctor appointments
