Certificate in Supervisory Management
The Certificate in Supervisory Management (CSM) is a nationally accredited program by the Canadian Institute of Management, Canada’s senior management association. Established as a non-profit organization in 1942, the Canadian Institute of Management is dedicated to the enhancement of managerial skills and professional development. The national office is in Toronto with branches from coast to coast.
The Certificate in Supervisory Management is a nationally accredited modern, dynamic, leadership development program built on a quality adult education model. Its principal aim is to develop and enhance those human interaction attitudes and skills that are fundamental to successful management, supervision, and community participation. The dominant theme of the CSM is people: understanding ourselves and understanding and working with our staff, our clients and our colleagues.
Certificate in Supervisory Management Program is a 140 hour Nationally Accredited Program by the Canadian Institute Management. Grounded in the real world of supervision, management and community participation, CSM is a practical program that will help to prepare you or your employee for entry into, or advancement in supervisory / management positions.
The program is designed to accommodate those who are working and is therefore offered in the evening (once a week). Any additional hours required are negotiated with the class and may include an occasional Saturday.
The CSM program consists of four courses offered in workshop style:
1) Organizational Behavior
2) Managerial Communications
3) Business and the Law in Canada
4) Planning and Building for Success
