New Dawn Recieves Award

EBA-start-page The Sydney and Area Chamber of Commerce recognized its own recently at the Membertou Conference and Convention Centre. Awards were handed out in 14 categories during the 20th Annual Excellence in Business Awards on October 20th. The Excellence in Business Awards recognize outstanding quality, innovation and professionalism in local business.

The Sydney and Area Chamber presented New Dawn Enterprises with the Award for Community Development.

The Sydney and Area Chamber of Commerce was first incorporated in 1911 and represents over 600 businesses within the Cape Breton Regional Municipality (CBRM).

New Dawn Enterprises Limited, incorporated in 1976, is the oldest Community Development Corporation in Canada and is a Founding Member of the Canadian CED (Community Economic Development) Network. It is a private, volunteer directed, organization dedicated to community building. New Dawn seeks to identify community needs and to establish and operate ventures that speak to those needs.
