Brìghde Chaimbeul in Unama’ki – Cape Breton

DATE: Jul 28 — Jul 30, 2026
LOCATION: Sydney & Inverness

Brìghde Chaimbeul is a Scottish smallpipes player from the Isle of Skye whose music moves between Gàidhlig tradition and contemporary experimental sound. Chaimbeul rose to prominence as a prodigy of traditional music, but has since taken smallpipes into uncharted territory. A fearless artist continuing the living traditions of old music in profound new ways. Arriving in time to celebrate Lùnasa, the beginning of the harvest season, we are thrilled to share these two opportunities on both the east and west coasts of Cape Breton Island.

Opening is PIT PONY, a collaboration blending tape, noise, and field recording into a sound shaped by cultural resilience in a post-industrial community.

Presented by Eltuek Arts Centre and Wild Lots, in partnership with ICCA and Beinn Mhàbu.
