The Princess Show: 10th Anniversary Tour

DATE: Aug 1, 2026
LOCATION: Suite 313

HEIST’s fan favourite and critically acclaimed The Princess Show makes its Cape Breton debut on Saturday, August 1st with two chances to catch this bewitching show: a 2pm matinee followed by an 8pm evening show. Both performances will feature special guest drag icon Elle Noir!

The Princess Show is HEIST’s original fully lip synched live-action anime drag musical extravaganza. The founders of HEIST (Aaron Collier & Richie Wilcox) perform as their beloved characters Princess Edward and Abel T. Suckizone in this quest to surmount depression in a dystopian fantasy world. Princess Edward’s battle with her inner demons is made literal in this fable in which a strange and soothing beast kidnaps her lover Abel and holds him in a disconnected trance. Will Princess rise to the challenge of radical self love to save her beloved? As one reviewer put it, “the show is a great, big, visually striking celebration of queer identity and learning to love yourself.”

Ten years ago, in 2016, The Princess Show (created by Aaron Collier, Richie Wilcox and Deonie Hudson) took the Halifax Fringe by storm becoming a Fringe Hit as Princess graced the cover of The Coast and the production was awarded the Best of the Fest prize. Since then The Princess Show has been seen coast to coast, from Victoria to Vancouver to Lethbridge to Toronto to Fredericton! The award-winning show was a finalist for the Nova Scotia Masterworks Award, has been presented by the National Arts Centre in Ottawa and the playscript was published by Canadian Theatre Review. And now it returns to the East Coast for a three stop tour – Halifax, Sydney and Charlottetown!
